Museum of Old Crafts in Żarki

Information

The Museum of Old Crafts in Żarki is located in a nearly 100-year-old electric mill. It presents five main crafts that have been present in Żarki for centuries. Visiting the museum, tourists will set off on a fascinating journey through time, during which they will learn about the history of milling, baking, cooperage, wheelwrighting and shoemaking. The story is interwoven with facts from the life of the city and its inhabitants, colored with threads from Żary's Fairs. Each element of the exhibition is a step into history - a mysterious and fascinating story about places, objects and people, for centuries constituting the foundation of Żarki. The entire original exhibition has been enriched with multimedia presentations, stands with interactive games and workshops, including grinding grain on stone burrs or assembling a barrel from staves. The elements of the exhibition allow you to: touch, look, check, smell, etc. Visitors can independently perform small works related to crafts, both during the visit to the exhibition and during workshops. Visiting the museum takes place with a guide. Visitors can choose from two sightseeing paths: for children up to 8 years of age and for adults. The Museum of Old Crafts in Stary Młyn in Żarki is located on the Industrial Monuments Route of the Silesian Voivodeship.
