Information

The Silesian Press Museum in Pszczyna was established in 1985 on the initiative of the Society of the Pszczyna Land Lovers. It is located at Piastowska 26, in a historic tenement house from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. The museum exhibition shows the history of the Silesian press from its beginnings until 1939. As the only press museum in the country, it collects antique printing machines and devices. Visitors can print a commemorative print on a handheld typographic Boston type press from the 19th century. You can also take advantage of an interactive presentation about the oldest Silesian printing houses, as well as watch a film about the history of printing and the principles of operation of printing machines. Inside there is also the Telemann Chamber - a music and poetry room, where, in addition to the 18th-century positive, collections of old instruments are presented. One of the most valuable exhibits is the positive organ from the wooden church of St. Jadwiga in Pszczyna. It is also worth seeing the 19th-century pianos and the so-called piano de table. The Silesian Press Museum is named after Wojciech Korfanty, the leader of the Silesian people, and the creator of the most popular Polish newspapers in Silesia. The museum is located on the marked Industrial Monuments Route.

Please note that ITS-Poland works with groups only (10 participants and more).
