Information

The Ustroń Museum is located in the historic building of the management of the former Klemens steelworks from 1772 - 1897. It collects exhibits on the history of local metallurgy and forging, ethnography and art as well as health resort treatment in Ustroń. It documents the cultural traditions of the region and acquires all artifacts related to the history of Ustroń and its inhabitants. Renovations of exhibits are carried out here, regional films are made, scientific research is carried out, museum lessons and thematic meetings are held. In the open-air section, there is also a Creative Work House with a workshop offer. The strength of the Museum is the richest collection of antique textiles in the Cieszyn region and numerous household and farm equipment, the operation of which is presented during various events. These are, for example, exhibits related to bathing and hygiene, unique washing machines and equipment for washing and ironing, as well as a charming kitchen corner, enchanting with the beauty of old dishes and items necessary for the preparation and serving of food. Also, you can see here wonderful embroidery and lace that made by women from Ustroń from the beginning of the 19th century to the 30s of the 20th century, incl. a collection of hand-decorated old underwear. For children, a special exhibition has been prepared, presenting old toys, games, books, school supplies and clothes. You can also find wooden toys that were used by grandparents. Since 2009, the Museum has been on the Industrial Monuments Route of the Silesian Voivodeship.
