Mysteries of Karkonosze (Polish: Karkonoskie Tajemnice, Karpacz) is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Karpacz. It is an underground, multimedia exhibition presenting the legendary and historical world of the Karkonosze and their ruler of the Mountain Spirit. Visitors will learn the most wonderful stories and legends, incl. a story about the herbalists inhabiting the Karkonosze Mountains, seekers of minerals and natural resources - the Walloons, legends depicting the Mountain Spirit or the amazing mandrake root. When you visit this place you will find out among others why is the mountain ghost called Liczyrzepa, how to create a philosophers’ stone, does a machine calling rain exist, what is an alchemical chamber of Four Elements (Komnata Czterech Żywiołów). The museum also organizes workshops for organized groups. The museum was established in 2011 and is located in Karpacz at 1a Mickiewicza Street. In front of the entrance there is a 9-meter high statue of the Mountain Spirit.
