55 Rynek Street, Niemodlin, 49-100
Niemodlin Castle is a late renaissance estate about 1-hour drive from Wrocław. Built in the early 14th century the castle was home to the Dukes of Opole. During its time the castle was destroyed on a few occasions. In 1428 by the Hussites, in a fire in 1552 and in 1643 during the Thirty Years’ War. After WWII the castle was owned by the state and was home to different offices, a high school and a military school. The following years saw the building being abandoned and largely neglected. It was then sold to private investors and is currently being gradually restored.
