Information

The Open Air Museum of Folk Architecture of Western Wielkopolska is located in Wolsztyn, on the western shore of Lake Wolsztyn. It is a branch of the Marcin Rożek Regional Museum in Wolsztyn. Its construction began in 1976, and it was opened to the public in 1986. It covers an area of 3.5 hectares. The open-air museum houses 14 historic architectural objects, mainly from the western part of Wielkopolska. The huts with living rooms, utility rooms and craft workshops are open to the public. Near the farms there are home gardens and farmland, there are also elements of small architecture - visitors can see, among others bread oven, dovecote, dog kennels ... In the tavern there is an inn from 1706 from Nowy Solec, a barn from the end of the 18th century from Solec, a stable with a coach house and a chamber from the 1st half of the 19th century. In addition, the open-air museum includes the "Koźlak" windmill from 1603 (after the windmill from the open-air museum on Lake Lednica, the second oldest in Greater Poland), brought in 1902 from Sława Śląska to Wronie and moved to Wolsztyn in 1998.
