Information

The palace in Dobrzyca is one of the most beautiful and magnificent palaces in Greater Poland. It was built in the years 1798–1799 for the Gorzeński family, by Stanisław Zawadzki - a famous architect of the classicism era and the author of such residences as the palace in Śmiełów and the palace in Lubostroń. In the interiors of the palace, the original painting and stucco decorations by Antoni Smuglewicz, Robert Stankiewicz and Michał Ceptowicz vel Ceptowski have been preserved. On the ground floor there are living and representative rooms, all beautifully reconstructed and equipped. On the first floor, the attention is drawn primarily to the ornate ballroom and the equally ornate Egyptian hall or the cupid lounge. The palace is situated in a picturesque landscape park in the English style. The park is not only well-kept vegetation, including several monumental trees (including a particularly monumental plane tree), but also interesting park architecture. A romantic monopter, a replica of the Roman Pantheon and a huge conservatory add charm to the surroundings. The palace houses the Museum of the Gentry in Dobrzyca Palace and Park Complex, opened to visitors in 2005. Here visitors can admire permanent exhibitions taking into account the traditions of the gentry and temporary exhibitions, and there are also lessons for students.
