Information

Maltanka is one of the three park railways in Poland. The historic narrow-gauge Park Railway in Poznań was built in 1956, but it was only since 1972 that it was moved to recreational areas along the northern shore of Lake Malta. It runs from the end of April to the end of September. Its route is 3.8 km long and the track is 600 mm wide. It runs between the Śródka roundabout and Nowy Zoo, carrying around 200,000 passengers a year. While traveling by train, visitors can admire the charming lake from which the plume of water of the largest fountain in Poznań rises at certain times. From the windows of the carriages they can also see an attractive year-round ski slope and a summer toboggan run, Termy Maltańskie, Hotel Park, bicycle paths, playgrounds for children and walking alleys.
