Information

Poznań Fortress Days is an annual event organized by the Poznań Local Tourist Organization together with partners. It is a great festival for fans of fortifications and historical reconstructions, attended by several dozen objects, several reconstruction groups and several thousand visitors. Their program includes over twenty places and attractions related to the Poznań fortifications from the Middle Ages to the present day. From Prussian forts from the 19th century, through air raid shelters from World War II, to museums and other objects related to the military and fortress history of Poznań. The nineteenth-century forts of the Prussian fortress are the most popular, among them the relics of the largest of them - Fort Winiary, known as the Citadel. It fulfilled its military role only once - during the Battle of Poznań at the beginning of 1945. Today it is a vast park. The Armament Museum is also located here, presenting, among other things, a collection of weapons from the Second World War.
