Information

The castle in Przecław is one of the most beautiful renaissance aristocratic residences in Poland. It is famous for its wonderful residential interiors, and is surrounded by a picturesque, 17th-century English-style park. The mansion in Przecław was built in the 16th century by the Ligęza family as a brick defensive manor. Successive owners extended the castle in the Renaissance style, and at the same time strengthened the fortification of the seat. Nevertheless, it was conquered and plundered during the Deluge by the Swedish army. In the 17th century, the castle passed into the hands of the Rey family - descendants of Mikołaj Rej from Nagłowice. In the nineteenth century, the residence was transformed into a romantic building, combining features of rebirth with neo-renaissance and neo-gothic elements. The interiors kept valuable collections and collections, as well as family mementoes, including after the father of Polish literature. Despite the reconstruction, the oldest part of the castle has retained its Renaissance character with a characteristic attic wall at the top. It was enriched with neo-Romanesque and neo-Gothic forms, which gave the building a romantic look.
Currently, the castle houses a hotel, a restaurant and a museum that offers guided tours of the historic interiors. The restaurant, museum and hotel are open from the beginning of April to the end of October. Throughout the year, from 9:00 am, you can use the beautifully nurtured castle park and the car park within it free of charge.
