St. Dominik’s Fair has extremely long tradition, as it started about 750 years ago. The event takes place every year in summer. The fair is located at Długi Targ in Gdańsk, which is the main tourist street in Gdańsk Old Town. The event is a mixture of trade and entertainment. Last year there were 6.5 million visitors and 1100 market stalls. Apart of possibility of purchasing almost anything imaginable, for 3 weeks at various stages there will be entertainment program organized. There will be concerts, costume performances, parades, festivals, fireworks shows, special sightseeing opportunities and numerous competitions. In the market stalls tourists will be able to purchase for example collector coins, jewellery, antiques, china, stamps, crafts, regional and artistic products. There is also a rich gastronomy offer, full of Polish regional products and also cuisine specialties from other parts of the world.
