Information

The waterfall on the Hylaty stream, also known as the Szepit waterfall, is located in the San Valley, south of the Zatwarnica village. It is considered the largest in the Bieszczady Mountains and officially measures 8 meters in height, but these 8 meters are made up of several smaller cascades. It is surrounded by rocky shores and rocks. The waterfall's surroundings were adapted to tourist traffic a few years ago. Tables, information boards and rubbish bins have been set up by the road above the waterfall. The place, which was always dangerous, was secured with a metal railing. The left bank of the stream is additionally protected with a wall that prevents the soil from sliding into the stream bed. Stairs lead to the viewing platform, which offers the best view of the cascades. The road to the waterfall is closed to traffic, but the trip to this place is not too long and you cantake a walk. There is also a marked “Hylaty” historical and natural path, which starts at the stop in the center of the village, to the cascade. A one-way hike takes approximately 20 minutes.
