Sztygarka Museum in Dąbrowa Górnicza

The Sztygarka City Museum in Dąbrowa Górnicza is located on the premises of the former seat of the Mining Authority at 69 Legionów Polskich Street. The museum is commonly called "Sztygarka". In the halls of the Museum there are exhibitions about the culture and history of the Dąbrowski Basin, as well as rich geological, nature and archeology collections. Here, you will have the opportunity to see unusual traditional clothes, beautiful red beads, wonderfully decorated scarves, white linen shirts for men, patterned silk ribbons attract attention with their originality and uniqueness. The decor of rural houses in the Dąbrowski Basin was also presented, as well as numerous agricultural tools. The Exercise Mine has also been made available to visitors, where you can see machines and devices for mining and transporting coal, such as a coal-loader, conveyors and mine wagons. In a small park, opposite the entrance to the Sztygarek Museum, there is a statue of Stanisław Staszic, you can also see the natural monument "Dąb Wolności". The museum conducts museum lessons, thanks to which participants will be able to learn about the work of a miner and a farmer, learn about traditional spring and Pentecostal rituals, the celebration of Easter and Christmas of their ancestors, and can learn "How many devils are on the head of a pin."
