Information

The European Center of Remembrance and Reconciliation was established in 2009 as a sub-unit of the Cultural Center and Libraries of the Dębica Commune in Pustków-Osiedle. It is located in the area of the former Nazi military training ground "SS Truppen-Übungs-Platz Heidelager" and the forced labor camps there. The historical and educational exhibition at the Mount of Death in Paszczyna presents the history and functioning of the labor camps and the Waffen-SS training ground in the context of the history of the entire Dębica district and its inhabitants during World War II. During the tour, visitors will have the opportunity to see models of the main, former camp buildings, training grounds, elements of military equipment, and numerous photos on the walls, showing prisoners of that period. They will also learn many stories of prisoners that sound unimaginable today. Next to the Exhibition, there is the so-called Mountain of Death, on which a cremation hearth was built during the war, used to burn the bodies of the dead and cruelly murdered prisoners. Visitors will see the Monument to the Murdered, a cross by the hearth, a shooting range, and a cellar for the bodies of the murdered. On April 3, 2010, the "Path of Suffering" and an obelisk were opened and consecrated on the Mount of Death to commemorate 2,500 Poles - victims of the German forced labor camp Pustków in 1942-1944.

Please note that ITS-Poland works with groups only (10 participants and more).
