The garden on the roof of the University Library in Warsaw is one of the largest and most beautiful roof gardens in Europe. It covers an area of over 1 ha. It was designed by the landscape architect Irena Bajerska. The garden consists of two parts: the upper (with an area of 2,000 m2) and the lower (with an area of 15,000 m2. In the lower garden there is a cascade and a pond where ducks live. There are also granite sculptures by Ryszard Stryjecki - the series "Situational sketch" which refers to cosmological themes. In the upper garden, the plants are planted on a 30-cm layer of soil piled up on the roof of the Library. The upper garden is divided into several parts that differ in form, color and smell: golden garden, silver garden, carmine garden, green garden, entrance garden.
