The narrow-gauge railway in Rudy was launched as early as 1899. The route included Rudy Wielkie (today's Rudy), where a modern station with a workshop and parking halls for trains was built. For many years, this line was very popular, carrying almost 2 million passengers in the record year of 1954. Unfortunately, in 1991 the connection was suspended. Currently, the station has gained a new life, has been made available for sightseeing and tourist courses operated by historic rolling stock depart from here. From the 51 km long route between Gliwice and Racibórz, today the narrow-gauge railway uses 6 km on the Rudy-Paproć-Rudy and Rudy-Stanica-Rudy sections. There are regular transports from May to August. It is also possible, by prior arrangement, to arrange transport at other times. The courses can be carried out with the use of a diesel rolling stock (e.g. WLs40 diesel locomotive) or a steam locomotive (Las 49 steam locomotive). There is also a possibility of traveling by a trolley. The historic depot, currently operating in Rudy, is a railway open-air museum. There you can admire the rolling stock of Polish and foreign production, as well as the equipment used for its maintenance. Noteworthy are the Las 49 and PW53 locomotives (out of service), the Faur Lxd2 diesel locomotive manufactured in Bucharest, and the unique Siemens electric locomotive from 1896. At the station, there is a Children's Rope Park Stacyjkowo and a Peron 2 bistro. There is also a place to organize a barbecue and a bonfire. Here, there is also a historic smithy waiting for you, which is also a museum. You can find here quite a lot of various exhibits in the field of crafts. School groups can take part in a special blacksmith workshop called "Forged Lesson". There are also other educational activities and workshops, including for preschoolers.
