The Museum of Cinematography in Łódź (Polish: Muzeum Kinomatografii w Łodzi) started its activity in 1976 as the Department of Film and Theater Culture at the Museum of the History of the City of Łódź. During the tour, visitors will have the opportunity to see archival film equipment, documents from film life, material objects related to the creation and functioning of the art of fictional, documentary, educational, animated, avant-garde, video and television, film programs, posters, scenery, photos and souvenirs related to with cinema people. They will also see, among others: the process of creating film works such as: "With Fire and Sword" and "Old Tale - When the Sun Was a God" by Jerzy Hoffman, "Pan Tadeusz" and "Revenge" by Andrzej Wajda or "Quo Vadis" by Jerzy Kawalerowicz. The museum has a collection of over 50,000 exhibits. They are collected in four main sections: history of cinema, film technology, poster and set design, and animation. The museum organizes exhibitions, meetings and museum lessons.
