Information

The Museum of the Radom Countryside was established in 1977 on the outskirts of Radom, next to the Warsaw - Krakow route. It covers an area of 32 ha and has 16,000 movable exhibits. The museum presents the culture and architecture of the Radom region. Among the unique collections there are also recently reconstructed buildings. The oldest of the monuments is the wooden church of St. Dorothy of Wolanów (from 1749), the greatest value of which is the illusionist polychrome depicting the rich interior of a baroque brick temple. The museum also has a collection of windmills, showcasing different types of these structures. In addition to the buildings, the museum also includes original dishes, everyday objects, as well as farm animals, e.g. sheep, goats, etc. Thanks to this, visitors can experience the character and charms of rural life from the beginning of the 20th century more realistically. The open-air museum also organizes various events, such as the Bread Festival, the Potato Festival or historical reenactments.
