The Trail of the Disappearing Professions, Kudowa – Zdrój

Information

The Trail of Disappearing Professions is a small open-air museum located in Kudowa Zdrój, in the Czermna district, near the Skull Chapel. It is a farm consisting of several wooden huts and a historic windmill. Here visitors can learn about such dying professions as: pottery, weaving, blacksmithing and traditional baking. There is also a mini zoo here. The central point of the farm is a windmill from which visitors can admire the picturesque surroundings of Czermna. In the pottery workshop visitors can listen to some interesting facts about this profession, then see a wonderful show made by a person dealing with it on a daily basis. At the end, each visitor has a chance to try it for themselves. There is also a bread house in the open-air museum, where bread is baked all the time according to the old recipe. Tourists can also buy it here for themselves. For organized groups, demonstrations of blacksmithing in the forge are organized. Larger groups can take part in the production of butter using a traditional butter dish. In another building visitors can see crochet costumes and home decorations.
