Pick up from your hotel in Cracow. Transfer to Zabrze to Guido Coal Mine. Sightseeing 2 levels of the mine (170 and 320 m underground) and lunch in the mine. Guido coal mine is situated in Zawiercie at 93 3 Maja Street which is about 18 km from Katowice and 96 km from Kraków. In the mine tourists can visit 3 levels: 170 m below ground surface, 320 m and extreme trail 355 m underground. At 320 level we can also visit K8 zone with conference rooms, concert area and a pub. The length of tourist trail is 1740 m and takes place 40 meters below ground surface. Part of the trail is also covered by boats (270 m), which is an additional mine attraction. The temperature in the mine is always 10 Celsius degrees so it is good to have something warm with you. Sightseeing takes about 90 minutes and you will need a guide. Above the mine there is also a museum and Steam Engine Open-air Museum. The museum uses more and more modern multimedia technologies to present mining topics so, it gets involving.
Black Trout Drift is located about 30 km from Katowice (45 minutes drive). This place is interesting for tourists as after closure of Tarnogorskie mines, there is an underground labyrinth of excavations, chambers, extraction galleries and draining drifts. The length of this complex is about 150 km. The part of it is actually our Black Trout Drift, opened for tourists in 1957. It is the longest underground Polish tourist trail that is covered by boats.
